The clock is ticking and we’re coming up on the 2016 Midori Yama Budokai Winter Clinic. It’s a “don’t miss event” for all of our students! Each year, we get the opportunity to host the top instructors in our ranking organization (Midori Yama Budokai - MYB). It’s a great learning event for the adults and kids and this year it will be the weekend of October 21 through 23.
The clinic is unique in that we have the opportunity to work with instructors who have a wide variety of backgrounds and a TON of experience in their specific arts. This year will be no different! We’re in the final planning stages, but we already know we’ll have the honor of Hanshi Baker and Kyoshi Frank Barry here for the event. Beginner and Intermediate Kids will have a separate training track so they can focus on skills they can use and the advanced kids and adults will have their own training track.
Because MYB is a multi-style organization, you’ll be introduced to a ton of new material and at the same time, it will be presented in a way where you can integrate the new skills into your current arsenal of skills. From the student perspective, the clinic is not only an opportunity to train with 10th degree Black Belts, it’s an opportunity to see how the martial arts are connected across styles and experience levels. It’s a GREAT way to add context and continuity to your training.
You can register for the Clinic at any of the Alexander’s locations or you can go to www.midoriyamabudokai.com for registration forms.
Keep your eyes open for additional details on our website including information about the seminars offered and the “kids training track”.
